Abstract
United Airlines, Inc v Jeremy Cooperstock (2017) FC 616 (Untied.com), 23 June 2017 In its Untied.com decision of 23 June 2017 the Canadian Federal Court confirmed the lack of a parody exception in trade mark law (Trade-Marks Act, RSC 1985, c T-13) and denied the applicability of the parody exception in copyright law (section 29 of the Copyright Act 1985, R.S.C., 1985, c. C-42) on grounds of confusion.
