Abnormal stance symmetry is a common problem after stroke. Augmented feedback incorporated into a physiotherapy programme has been shown to be an effective method of correcting this problem. However, the literature fails to give details of the treatment procedures. This article provides a background to existing research and describes a method of implementing it. The main aim of the paper is to outline a physiotherapy treatment programme using a balance performance monitor to provide visual feedback.
