Abstract

This toolkit advocates for a new approach to the cataloguing of women filmmakers in local, regional, and national archives. Acknowledging that women's creative work has been under-reported and under-recognised, we have designed five tools that will aid archives and archivists when approaching amateur and non-professional films and film collections. Making small but significant adjustments to metadata creation can allow for a more accurate recording of the data around such creative women.
