Abstract

Glycated haemoglobin (HbA1c) is regarded as the gold standard for monitoring long term glycaemic control (8-10 weeks) in individuals with diabetes mellitus and can be used for the diagnosis of diabetes. As part of a recent tender exercise we evaluated three HbA1c analysers against our current in-house HbA1c analyser the Menarini 8160.
