Abstract

Soil potential ratings are calculated for the Karoi-Chinoyi-Banket area of Zimbabwe. Under these tropical conditions, soil properties for evaluation included slope, organic matter, compaction and toxicity. The method successfully differentiates between a soil which has a very high potential and ones which require considerable expenditure to achieve a satisfactory, continuing yield.
