Soil potential ratings are a form of land evaluation that emphasises the actual performance of soils. Individual soil properties are not rated. Instead, the relative quality of a soil for a particular use is assessed in terms of yields or performance levels and the cost of minimising soil limitations and any limitations that remain after feasible corrective measures have been applied.
