This project attempted to improve the experience of admission to a psychiatric intensive care unit. It had two specific aims: to use health-care assistants to implement activity programmes and to improve relationships between nursing and occupational therapy staff. The aim of implementing activity programmes was not achieved, but relationships did improve.
