Abstract

This presentation will share the design and outcomes of a two-day workshop series in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam to support new teaching partners preparing to deliver Kühne Logistics University (KLU) degree programs and offer insights into how faculty development can serve as a catalyst for pedagogical innovation and sustainable academic collaboration. In June 2025, Kühne Logistics University (KLU) hosted the workshops grounded in KLU’s mission to promote an “operations mindset” and aimed to foster pedagogical alignment, intercultural understanding, and a shared teaching culture across campuses. The participants engaged in discussions and activities related to student-centered methodologies such as case-based learning, problem-based learning, and experiential design. Faculty and industry guests participated in collaborative activities including curriculum mapping, assessment design, and the creation of culturally relevant case studies. Innovations in educational technology were also explored. Participants examined KLU’s use of virtual reality in humanitarian logistics simulations and discussed the ethical integration of artificial intelligence in assessment. Using KLU’s AI Traffic Light System and Assessment Review Guide, faculty evaluated the impact of AI on their own practices and proposed adaptations. Finally, intercultural competence was also explored and participants reflected on their own teaching styles and engaged in scenario-based discussions to surface assumptions and foster empathy. Feedback collected via Padlet and Mentimeter and post-workshop evaluation forms highlighted strong engagement and appreciation for the practical, inclusive approach. Participants reported increased confidence and a deeper understanding of how to navigate transnational teaching environments. The presentation will explore the projects next steps both in relation to KLU’s new campus in Vietnam and planned further partnership development in Africa and the Americas.
