This chapter explores the psychological experiences and needs of a homosexual man following the receipt of a prostate cancer diagnosis and subsequent medical clearance. Drawing on contemporary research in psycho-oncology and LGBTQ+ mental health, the chapter examines the unique challenges faced by sexual minority men in processing a life-altering health event. Key areas of focus include emotional adjustment, coping strategies, identity-related stressors, and the impact of social support systems. The chapter highlights the importance of tailored psychological interventions that acknowledge both the universal and context-specific aspects of cancer adjustment, providing practical guidance for clinicians and mental health professionals working with this population. The chapter offers insights into promoting resilience, well-being, and adaptive coping following cancer treatment in sexual minority men.
