Abstract

This chapter concentrates on the difficulties of intergrating data from different areal spatial units. GIS techniques are used to obtain "intelligent' information, useable to allow for more accurate interpolation. The case study used is that of land cover mapping, which is classified from Landsat imagery, then predictively modelled to assess human populations of overlain administrative units. -D.Fairbairn
