Abstract

On Friday 11 June at 3pm Diane Lake’s radio play The Casebook of Violet Strange: The Inseparables was broadcast live on Tequila radio. The all-live production was directed by Richard Hand, produced by Mary Traynor, the sound effects were devised by Rob Dean and the music composed by Ben Challis. The performers will include staff colleagues Stephen Lacey and Geraint D’Arcy as well as drama, music and media students from CCI and RWCMD. The production was be streamed live on http://www.tequilaradio.co.uk/player.html and a studio audience was invited to attend the broadcast in the CB218 studio. Diane Lake, a working screenwriter since 1993, has been commissioned to write films for Columbia, Disney, Miramax, Paramount and NBC. Diane’s film, Frida, opened the Venice Film Festival in 2002, was named one of the 10 Best Films of 2002 by numerous top 10 lists, including the National Board of Review and the American Film Institute. Frida was also nominated for 6 Academy Awards in 2003. Diane is also a screenwriting professor at Emerson College in Boston.
