Abstract

The diastereoselective reactions of palladium acetate with (eta(5)-(S)-2-(4-methylethyl)oxzazolinylcyclopentadienyl)(eta(4)-tetraph enylcyclobutadiene)cobalt, which gives a planar chiral palladacycle with (R-p) configuration, and (eta(5)-(S)-2-(4-dimethylethyl)oxzazolinylcyclopentadienyl)(eta(4)-tetra phenylcyclobtttadiene)cobalt, which results in the opposite (S-p) configuration, are shown to be a consequence of these reactions displaying thermodynamic and kinetic control, respectively.
