Abstract

5-endo-Iodocyclisations of stereoisomers of 3-alkene-1,2-diols 9, 12, 15 and 18 are stereoselective and provide an efficient route to β- hydroxytetrahydrofurans. (C) 2000 Elsevier Science Ltd.
