Abstract

This chapter explains what Africa has achieved through African efforts and international institutions in moving forward. It presents the challenges in and a framework for building organizational capabilities to serve Africa. In addressing the continental need, Africa has been undergoing reshaping by a new ethnocentric continental branding, leading to a positive image in its individual countries. The African Development Bank began developing its education policy starting in 1986 in response to a host of concerns ranging from educational access, and relevance to internal and external efficiency, educational management, organization and planning, and cost and effectiveness. In an ever-evolving globalization where economies become more interdependent and organizations must operate in multiple geographic areas with diverse demographics, culture plays a central role in equipping managers with the right tools to navigate through human interactions. It supports internal stakeholders, responds to the external constituents’ concerns, and creating effective an organizational environment for optimal performance.
