Abstract

The teaching of anatomy and physiology to health-care students has always raised challenges for staff. The diversity of ability of the students and the need to apply theoretical concepts to clinical practice are particularly difficult for some lecturers. These lecturers may be non-clinical physiologists or clinical specialists with less detailed understanding of the scientific rationale. This project looks at the development of a new teaching strategy using computer software to supplement existing teaching methods to support a range of pre-registration health-care students in learning anatomical and physiological principles.
