This was the inaugural conference of the Subcultures Network, led by Matt Worley (University of Reading), with Bill Osgerby (London Metropolitan University), Keith Gildart (University of Wolverhampton), Pete Webb (University of Cambridge), Sian Lincoln (Liverpool John Moores University), Paul Hodkinson, Jon Garland (both University of Surrey), Lucy Robinson (University of Sussex), Anna Gough Yates (University of West London) and John Street (University of East Anglia). The Network is currently funded by an AHRC Network Grant.
