Abstract

Reports on current work in the area of productivity and erosion, examines the implications of the decline in productivity, and identifies where future research and advisory effort might most profitably be directed. Among areas suggested are: farm level economic studies; alternative forms of analysis on why people cause their soil to be eroded; and country studies quantifying the national costs of erosion-induced productivity loss.
